BBA has master planned and designed several notable commercial retail and entertainment centers in Southern California, Idaho and Hawaii, and Washington State. Notably, BBA master planned and designed the Franciscan Plaza, the first major redevelopment project encompassing two city blocks in the historic mission district of San Juan Capistrano, California. It consists of the “Courtyard”, a three tiered structure of specialty retail and restaurants overlooking a traditional Spanish courtyard, a multi-screen cinema theater detailed in a reminiscent style masonry façade, a 400 car four level parking structure and Amtrak railroad passenger loading dock, restoration of the historic landmark Avilla adobe,the Promenade, and a 20,000 square foot multi-level professional building designed in the Monterey style. Other notable projects include the Ontario Mountain Village Entertainment Center and the Alhambra Renaissance redevelopment commercial entertainment center in California; the Midtown Market Place in Nampa, Idaho; the Teton Spectrum in Idaho Falls, Idaho; Kapolei Commons in West Oahu, Hawaii; and Grand Ridge Plaza consisting of three retail buildings, a cinema theatre, and a parking structure in Issaquah, Washington. Additionally, BBA won the City of Laguna Beach Glenneyre St. Parking Structure competition which became the first, and to this date the only, city owned parking structure in Laguna Beach, California.
